The University of Warwick Symphony Orchestra (UWSO) is one of the largest student societies on campus. The orchestra has a membership of approximately 150, and they rehearse on Tuesday evenings in the Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre. Termly concerts are given on campus. There is a yearly tradition of giving a free concert on the Tuesday of the 2nd week of term 1, where all new players and existing members alike are welcome to play. Tickets are available free from the Arts Centre box office.

All string sections are unauditioned. Informal wind and brass auditions take part in the second week of term 1. Socials are every Tuesday night after rehearsal, as well as off campus socials twice a term.
