ShockSoc is Newcastle University's society for Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineers (EECE). The group has existed since 2001 in an unofficial form, and in 2006 became a recognised student society. It's aim is to create a social network between courses and stages within the school of EECE. This is done through many popular events, eg. BBQs, music nights, their bar discount schemes, club night promotions, and 5-a-side football team (with a rugby team starting in 2007). They have also organised nights, in aid of local charities, most recently, this was for Grace House, children's hospice.

The football team took part in a european tournament in 2007, finishing in 4th place overall.

The society is made up of undergraduates, postgraduates and staff, and is all organised by a team of undergraduates and postgraduates within the school, each representing a course/stage within the school. They gain much support from the school's administrative, teaching, and management staff.
