The Edinburgh University Humanist Society (HS) would like to invite you to meet, discuss and act in an environment that is freethinking, progressive and based on Humanist values. The Humanist Society is an inclusive gathering of inquisitive minds, with affirmative and constructive goals.

Humanism is a non-religious philosophy based on reason and compassion. It provides the basis for a fulfilling and ethical life (without any supernatural belief).

The Humanist Society aims to establish a positive social environment for UoE students who are rationalists, non-theists (agnostics or atheists), humanists, or sceptics; to enrich UoE campus life by sponsoring educational events and fostering student dialogue on matters of faith, science, and reason; as well as to engage students in issues of national and international import surrounding freedom of conscience and secular education. See below for a list of upcoming activities.
