THE CITY OF CARDIFF CONCERT BAND

The University Wind Band Society is a fairly large society, with around 80 active members. We give wind, brass and percussion players the opportunity to continue playing whilst at Cardiff.

The society is based around our large symphonic wind band; 'The City of Cardiff Concert Band'. We play to a very high level and perform regular concerts throughout the year covering as many genres of music as possible. We also aim to help to set up smaller ensembles, such as brass/wind quintets or jazz groups and provide opportunities for these groups to perform.

We will also arrange as many social events as possible, eg. pub crawls, nights out, trips to concerts etc. Last Easter we went to Dublin on tour and we are currently planning a trip to Germany for Easter 2008!

Rehearsals are held at Crwys Road Methodist Church (opposite Domino's pizza) every Wednesday in term time between 6.30pm and 9:00pm.
