CUHWC was formed to fill the gap between the Rambling and Mountaineering Clubs; to get out of Cambridge to Britain's mountainous areas while offering a range of walks of differing standards, from gentler hillwalking to more challenging scrambling.

[edit] Trips

We organise three or four trips in each of the Michaelmas and Lent terms - generally two or three weekend trips and a day trip - with one in the Easter term and longer outings in each vacation. We normally go to the Lake District, Snowdonia, Peak District and Pennines; other areas are visited less often.

Our usual accommodation is in bunkhouses; occasionally camping or staying in a Youth Hostel.

Equipment needed is a pair of sturdy walking boots, a rucksack, a decent set of waterproofs and warm clothing as we walk all year round.
